What is 3D architectural animation?
3D architectural animation is a moving, photorealistic film of an unbuilt project — an exterior flythrough, interior walkthrough, aerial camera move, or masterplan reveal produced from CAD, Revit, BIM, SketchUp, or Rhino models. Developers, architects, and marketing teams use architectural animations for pre-sales, leasing, entitlements, and investor presentations before the building is constructed.
What is an architectural flythrough animation?
A flythrough is an architectural animation that flies a virtual camera through a project — over the site, along the facade, through the lobby, and into model units and amenity spaces. Flythroughs are the most-used format for pre-construction marketing because they show scale, context, and the lived experience of a building in a single continuous shot.
How long should an architectural animation be?
Most marketing animations run 45–90 seconds: long enough to cover exterior arrival, one or two interior moments, and an amenity or view reveal, short enough to hold attention on a landing page, sales-gallery loop, or social ad. Full presentation flythroughs for approvals or investor decks can run 2–3 minutes.
What inputs do you need to start an animation project?
We work from architectural plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models exported from Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or AutoCAD, plus interior finish boards, landscape plans, and any brand references. A shot list or storyboard helps, but we can also propose the camera sequence based on the plans and the project's marketing goals.
What are typical animation turnaround times?
A 60–90 second flythrough animation usually takes four to six weeks after the first previz pass, with two rounds of client review. Timing is driven by scene count, level of detail, geometry complexity, camera length, finish variations, and post-production.
What deliverables do you provide?
Final films are delivered in 4K (and 5K on request), MP4 and ProRes, with vertical and square crops for social and web, thumbnails, and a silent loop version for homepage or sales-gallery playback. Deliverables include full-usage rights for the developer or brand client for marketing, sales, and PR of the depicted project.
