Find by purpose

Which room matches why you are going

Most people attend two or three events a year, chosen by the conversation they need to have.

Raising capital or finding buyers

Principal-heavy meetings: NIC Fall for senior housing, NMHC Annual for apartments, ALIS and NYU for hotels, MIPIM for international and cross-border capital. These events draw the people who sign checks, but they also fill with intermediaries, so the useful meetings are the ones booked before you arrive.

Leasing or pre-leasing space

ICSC Las Vegas is the main floor for retail and restaurant ground floor. OPTECH covers multifamily leasing and operations technology, while IBS is where production and custom builders line up partners. The floor is noisy; the relevant people are the ones with a vacancy or a product to place.

Meeting architects and design teams

AIA27, Greenbuild, and ULI Spring or Fall are the rooms where architects hear about new work and compare notes. The cycle is slower than an investor event, but the relationships tend to last longer.

Learning a sector before you commit

ULI meetings are the most deliberately educational, with project tours that show what is actually getting built. NIC and NMHC also publish sector data in their education tracks, which is useful if you are new to senior housing or apartments.

Hiring or building a team

AIA27 and Greenbuild for design talent, IBS for construction and builder roles, HITEC and OPTECH for hospitality and multifamily operations. The best hires usually come from hallway conversations, not the job boards at the back of the hall.

The year ahead, in date order

31 conferences

  1. October 5 to 7, 2026

    Denver, CO

    Sheraton Denver Downtown

    CREDA Conference (formerly NAIOP CRE.Converge)

CREDA, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association

Who attends. Commercial developers, owners, investors, and brokers, weighted toward industrial and office.

Why it matters. The flagship annual meeting of the association formerly known as NAIOP. If your pipeline is industrial, logistics, or suburban office, this is the room.

  2. October 5 to 8, 2026

    Phoenix, AZ

JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa

    The Lodging Conference

    The Conference Bureau

Who attends. Hotel owners, operators, franchisors, lenders, and brokers. Roughly 3,000 attendees with a relaxed, resort-setting format.

Why it matters. The hotel industry's premier development and dealmaking conference. Deals get done by the pool here as much as in sessions, which is exactly the point.

  3. October 5 to 7, 2026

    Las Vegas, NV

    JW Marriott Resort and Spa

SMASH Senior Care Marketing and Sales Summit

    HMP Global

Who attends. C-suite and senior sales and marketing leaders from the largest multi-site senior living operators, roughly 500 attendees.

Why it matters. The senior living event built entirely around occupancy and revenue. If your work touches lease-up or pre-sales in seniors housing, this is the most focused room on the calendar.

    Senior livingCapital & investment
  4. October 6 to 8, 2026

    Detroit, MI

Huntington Place and the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center

    NAHB Fall Leadership Meeting

    National Association of Home Builders

Who attends. Homebuilder leadership, councils, and committees rather than the full trade show audience.

Why it matters. A working meeting, not an expo. Useful if you want time with builder leadership without the scale of the Builders' Show.

  5. October 19 to 21, 2026

    Scottsdale, AZ

    Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort

    NMHC Student Housing Conference

    National Multifamily Housing Council

Who attends. Student housing owners, developers, operators, and capital partners.

Why it matters. The single best concentration of purpose-built student accommodation decision makers in the US, and it lands right as the next pre-leasing cycle is being planned.

  6. October 20 to 23, 2026

    New York, NY

    Javits Center

    Greenbuild International Conference and Expo

    Informa and USGBC

Who attends. Architects, engineers, sustainability leads, and owners focused on green building and LEED.

Why it matters. The place where design teams and owners meet over performance rather than deals. Strong for architects, lighter on capital.

  7. October 21 to 23, 2026

    Chicago, IL

    Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk

    NIC Fall Conference

National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care

Who attends. More than 3,000 senior housing operators, developers, lenders, and capital partners.

Why it matters. Senior housing capital gets allocated in these hallways. If you build, operate, or lend in seniors housing, this is the calendar's anchor event.

  8. Exhibiting at one of these?

We create the films, renderings, interactive masterplans, and large-format visuals developers use on the show floor.

    See what to bring →
  9. October 25 to 28, 2026

    Philadelphia, PA

    Pennsylvania Convention Center

    LeadingAge Annual Meeting

    LeadingAge

Who attends. More than 6,000 aging services professionals, weighted toward nonprofit senior living and care providers.

Why it matters. The largest aging services gathering in the country. The audience skews nonprofit provider rather than developer, but the expo floor is where operators evaluate new communities and products.

  10. October 26 to 28, 2026

    Miami Beach, FL

    Miami Beach Convention Center

    ULI Fall Meeting

    Urban Land Institute

Who attends. Cross-disciplinary land use: developers, investors, planners, architects, and public sector leaders.

Why it matters. The broadest mix of anyone on this list. Worth it for masterplan and mixed-use work, where the design side and the capital side are in the same session.

    Mixed-useMasterplanArchitectsCapital & investment
  11. November 2 to 4, 2026

    Newport Beach, CA

    VEA Newport Beach

    Multifamily Executive Conference

    Multifamily Executive, Zonda

Who attends. Multifamily owners, developers, and investors, with capital and service providers attending through sponsorship. An intimate, curated format rather than a trade show floor.

Why it matters. A smaller room built around one-to-one meetings and deal making. Useful when you want real conversations with apartment leadership instead of booth traffic.

  12. November 8 to 9, 2026

    New York, NY

    Javits Center

    BDNY, Boutique Design New York

    Emerald

Who attends. Boutique hotel brands, interior designers, architects, purchasing agents, owners, and developers.

  13. November 16 to 18, 2026

    Las Vegas, NV

    MGM Grand

    NMHC OPTECH

    National Multifamily Housing Council

Who attends. Multifamily operations, marketing, and technology leadership.

  14. December 9 to 10, 2026

    New York, NY

    Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

    ICSC NEW YORK

    ICSC

Who attends. Retail real estate dealmakers, owners, developers, brokers, and retailers, concentrated in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

Why it matters. The December dealmaking companion to ICSC Las Vegas, at a fraction of the scale. Easier to get real meetings, and retail members attend free.

  15. January 10 to 12, 2027

    New York, NY

    Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

    NRF 2027: Retail's Big Show

    National Retail Federation

Who attends. More than 41,000 retail professionals, weighted toward retailers, brands, and retail technology rather than landlords.

Why it matters. The retail industry's biggest event. Less a leasing floor than a read on where retail is heading, which is useful context when you are planning ground floor or mixed-use retail.

  16. January 25 to 27, 2027

    Los Angeles, CA

JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE

    ALIS, Americas Lodging Investment Summit

    Northstar Meetings Group

Who attends. Roughly 3,000 hotel owners, brands, lenders, and developers. Heavily weighted to principals.

Why it matters. The hotel investment calendar starts here. Brand approvals, financing, and new-build decisions all run through this week.

  17. January 26 to 28, 2027

    Las Vegas, NV

    ARIA Resort and Casino

NMHC Annual Meeting and Apartment Strategies Conference

    National Multifamily Housing Council

Who attends. Senior apartment industry leadership. The Annual Meeting is members only; the Apartment Strategies Conference on January 26 is open to non-members.

    NAHB International Builders' Show

    National Association of Home Builders

Who attends. More than 115,000 professionals across the co-located IBS and KBIS during Design & Construction Week.

Why it matters. The largest light-construction show in the world, and now permanently in Las Vegas. Production builders, custom builders, and their marketing teams all attend.

  19. March 9 to 10, 2027

    To be announced

    To be announced

    I.CON West: The Industrial Conference

    CREDA Global

Who attends. Industrial developers, operators, and occupiers.

Why it matters. The largest US gathering focused only on industrial real estate. Narrow by design, which is exactly why it converts for industrial-heavy firms.

  20. March 15 to 19, 2027

    Cannes, France

Palais des Festivals et des Congrès

    MIPIM

    RX Global

Who attends. International investors, developers, city leaders, and architects.

Why it matters. The global market. Worth the flight when you are raising cross-border capital or pitching a project to a city. The 2027 programme adds a data centers summit and moves housing into the main stage schedule.

    Shoptalk Spring

    Shoptalk

Who attends. More than 10,000 retail, consumer brand, and technology attendees, with roughly a third at C-suite level.

Why it matters. Where retail strategy and technology get debated. Not a real estate dealmaking event, but the best single read on what tenants will want from physical space next.

  22. April 12 to 14, 2027

    To be announced

    To be announced

    NMHC Spring Meeting

    National Multifamily Housing Council

Who attends. Multifamily leadership, smaller and more conversational than the Annual Meeting.

Why it matters. A better setting for real conversations than the January crush, if you already have relationships to deepen.

  23. May 2 to 5, 2027

    Huntington Beach, CA

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa

AIM, Apartment Innovation and Marketing Conference

    Joshua Tree Conference Group

Who attends. Around 950 executives from multifamily owners and managers. Attendance is limited to owner-operators and sponsors, so the floor is principals, not vendors.

Why it matters. The marketing and operations end of apartments: leasing experience, resident retention, centralization, and AI in operations. The most operator-honest multifamily event on the list.

  24. May 3 to 5, 2027

    Las Vegas, NV

    Mandalay Bay

    HD Expo and Conference

    Hospitality Design

Who attends. Hospitality designers, architects, hotel operators, developers, and purchasing teams.

  25. May 11 to 13, 2027

    Seattle, WA

    To be announced

    ULI Spring Meeting

    Urban Land Institute

Who attends. Around 5,000 land use professionals across development, investment, planning, and design.

Why it matters. ULI's other flagship, with project tours that are genuinely worth the schedule. Seattle in 2027 puts it in one of the more active development markets in the country.

    Mixed-useMasterplanArchitectsCapital & investment

    Philadelphia, PA

    To be announced

AIA Conference on Architecture and Design (AIA27)

    American Institute of Architects

Who attends. Architects, designers, and AEC decision makers. The expo runs May 20 and 21.

  27. May 24 to 26, 2027

    Las Vegas, NV

    Las Vegas Convention Center

    ICSC LAS VEGAS

    ICSC

Who attends. More than 25,000 retail and commercial real estate decision makers.

  29. June 6 to 8, 2027

    New York, NY

New York Marriott Marquis, Times Square

    NYU International Hospitality Investment Forum

Questex, with NYU's Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality

Who attends. More than 2,500 attendees, with roughly a third being investors representing over $700 billion in hotel assets under management.

Why it matters. The capital markets end of hospitality. If ALIS is where the calendar starts, NYU is where the institutional money weighs in mid-year.

  30. June 15 to 17, 2027

    Denver, CO

    Colorado Convention Center

    NAA Apartmentalize

    National Apartment Association

Who attends. The country's largest rental housing conference, with more than 100 education sessions and nearly 700 exhibitors.

Why it matters. The biggest apartment show in the US, weighted toward property management and operations. Go for scale and supplier coverage; for principal-level dealmaking, NMHC Annual is the tighter room.

  31. June 28 to July 1, 2027

    Orlando, FL

    Orange County Convention Center

    HITEC

    Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals

Who attends. More than 6,000 hospitality technology and finance professionals, with 400-plus exhibitors.

    To be announced

    NIC Fall Conference

National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care

Showing work on the floor

What holds a booth, and what does not

We produce the films, renderings, and interactive work that end up on these stands, so this is what we see working across a show floor.

01

One film, not a reel

A two minute project film holds a booth better than a loop of unrelated clips. People stop for a story about one building, not a highlight tape. Cut a version with no sound that still reads, because the floor is loud.

02

Large prints of a small number of images

Three large renderings at full resolution beat twenty thumbnails. The failure mode we see most often at trade shows is an image scaled up past its source resolution, which reads as low quality from four feet away.

03

Something they can drive themselves

An interactive masterplan or a 360° tour on a touchscreen changes a booth conversation, because the prospect is using it instead of watching you present. It also travels home as a link.

04

A headset only if someone owns it

VR draws a crowd and stalls just as easily. It works when one person is responsible for the headset all day, sanitizing it and resetting the scene. It fails when everyone is busy.

05

A link that outlives the badge

Whatever you show on the floor should exist at a URL you can email that night while they still remember the conversation. A printed board cannot follow anyone home.

If an interactive piece is on the table, the interactive masterplan versus physical scale model comparison covers what each one costs and which travels. Budgets for films and renderings are in our rendering cost guide.

Conference FAQ

Questions we get about the calendar

What are the biggest real estate development conferences in 2026 and 2027?

By attendance, ICSC LAS VEGAS on May 24 to 26, 2027 draws more than 25,000 commercial real estate decision makers, and the co-located IBS and KBIS draw more than 115,000 professionals during Design & Construction Week. For senior leadership rather than raw scale, the NMHC Annual Meeting on January 26 to 28, 2027 and the NIC Fall Conference on October 21 to 23, 2026 are the events people protect on their calendars.

Which conference should a multifamily developer attend?

NMHC Annual Meeting in late January is the anchor. Add OPTECH in November if your team is evaluating leasing technology and virtual tours, the NMHC Student Housing Conference in October if you build purpose-built student accommodation, and ULI Spring or Fall if you want the land use and design conversation alongside the capital one.

Which conferences do architects actually attend?

The AIA Conference on Architecture and Design, held May 19 to 22, 2027 in Philadelphia, is the largest US gathering of architects, with the expo on May 20 and 21. Greenbuild on October 20 to 23, 2026 at the Javits Center draws design teams focused on performance and LEED. ULI meetings pull in architects working on masterplans and mixed-use.

Which event is best for hotel and hospitality projects?

The Lodging Conference, October 5 to 8, 2026 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, is the industry's premier development and dealmaking room. ALIS on January 25 to 27, 2027 in Los Angeles and the NYU Investment Forum on June 6 to 8, 2027 at the Marriott Marquis cover the investment and ownership side. HD Expo on May 3 to 5, 2027 at Mandalay Bay and BDNY on November 8 to 9, 2026 at the Javits Center cover design and procurement. Most hospitality teams split between the capital events and the design events because they solve different problems.

Is there a conference focused only on industrial real estate?

Yes. I.CON West on March 9 to 10, 2027 is the largest US event focused exclusively on industrial development and operations. The broader CREDA Conference, formerly NAIOP CRE.Converge, on October 5 to 7, 2026 in Denver also skews industrial and office.

Which senior housing conference matters most?

The NIC Fall Conference. The 2026 edition runs October 21 to 23 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk and draws more than 3,000 senior housing and care leaders, and the 2027 edition is already scheduled for September 20 to 22 in Houston.

What should we bring to show a project on a trade show floor?

One short project film that reads without sound, a small number of large prints at full source resolution, and something interactive the prospect can drive themselves. Avoid scaling images beyond their source resolution for large-format prints, which is the most common quality problem we see on trade show stands.

How often is this conference list updated?

We review it quarterly and after any organizer announcement we see, and every date and venue here was checked against the organizer's own site in September 2026. Events with no announced date are left off rather than estimated. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Dates, venues, and attendance figures on this page come from each organizer’s own website and were last verified in September 2026. Conferences move. Confirm with the organizer before booking travel, and tell us if you find something out of date.
